Program #1 - Canada University/College Tour

 

Canada University/College Tour – a unique summer program is designed

specifically for International High School Students aspiring to study in Canada.

Location: Toronto, Canada

Program Overview:

Elevate your language proficiency and academic skills through an intensive English language course with preparation for IELTS/TOEFL exams, focusing on essential topics for success in foreign university studies.

Program #2 - Explore your Future Career in Science and Engineering

 

If you are on-track for undergraduate STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math)

post-secondary studies, then this summer program is for you!

 

Location: Toronto, Canada

 

Program Includes:

  • 2-week Intensive English classes provide an immersive experience to enhance language skills quickly and effectively. With a focus on speaking, listening, reading, and writing, you'll gain the confidence needed to communicate in English in various real-life situations.

  • 2-week engineering and science program (DEEP and CREATE) organized by the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering. DEEP and CREATE programs are designed for highly motivated high school students with an aptitude for science and math. DEEP and CREATE have brought together like-minded students to explore some of the most innovative topics in engineering and science today taught by U of T faculty’s top alumni, PhD candidates, and master’s and undergraduate students.

 

Program highlights:

  • Gain hands-on experience working with real tools and equipment when exploring the knowledge frontier in STEM.

  • A collaborative and supportive learning environment, where attendees will work alongside other like-minded students and are encouraged to ask questions, take risks, and think creatively.

We are looking for students who are on-track for undergraduate STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) post-secondary studies. The results of a recent science course and the results of a recent math course must be provided in the form of a report card or unofficial transcript. Report cards or transcripts can be from the past two years. 

  • A statement of interest for the program

Your statement should be no more than 500 words long, and should answer the following questions: Why do you want to attend our program? What do you hope to get out of this experience?  How will learning about cutting-edge graduate-level research help you reach your goals?

Students with Homestay in Canadian Families

Program #3 - A Real Canadian Experience

Location: Toronto, Canada

Program Overview: Hosted by one of Canada's top language schools known for its academic excellence, this summer camp welcomes school students and provides homestay accommodation with Canadian families. Affordable yet content-rich, with flexible start dates, it serves as an ideal introduction to Canada for many.

 

Designed to significantly enhance language proficiency and prepare participants for international exams such as IELTS, Cambridge FCE, CAE, and CPE, the program facilitates exam-taking at the school's open exam centers. The comprehensive immersion system, including afternoon excursions and weekend stays with Canadian families, yields excellent language learning results.

 

The program also features visits to Canadian Universities and Colleges, offering participants insights into campus life, dining, and leisure activities. Students gain familiarity with the Canadian higher education system, admission rules, opportunities for scholarships/grants for foreign students, and post-graduation prospects.

 

Age Group: 13 - 17 years

 

Included in the Cost:

  • English classes (20 lessons per week)

  • Accommodation with a Canadian family (double room - half board)

  • Visits to Canadian colleges and universities

  • Full-day excursions: Niagara Falls, Canada's Wonderland, Wet N' Wild water park, etc.

Project Aim:

The primary objective of this project is to furnish foreign educators with a thorough understanding of the Canadian education system, along with critical pedagogical components:

 

  • Curriculum development

  • Assessment and Evaluation

  • Innovative teaching strategies

 

Project Scope:

The project's proposed curriculum is designed to optimize the educational content delivery process. Attendees, composed of teachers and staff from High Schools, will have the unique opportunity to interact with Toronto District School Board personnel. 

This board stands as one of Canada's largest public-school boards, comprising 582 schools citywide, serving approximately 246,000 regular daytime students and over 140,000 lifelong learners through Adult and Continuing Education programs. 

The Toronto District School Board has garnered global recognition for its educational endeavors.

 

During these meetings, attendees will:

  • Acquire and discuss innovative teaching strategies, presentation skills, assessment techniques, and activities tailored for diverse classrooms.

  • Enhance their ability to engage elementary and secondary students through interactive and dynamic teaching-learning methodologies.

  • Delve into the criteria employed for assessing student success.

 

The agenda also encompasses:

  • In-depth insights into Canada's education system.

  • Comprehensive subject matter content in secondary schools.

  • Participation in roundtable discussions, exploring various teaching methods across subjects, and the grading framework for assignments, homework, and exams.
